LiuGong announces its first 3.5 tonne zero tail-swing excavator

The LiuGong the 9035EZTS excavator is towable to and from worksites behind a standard pickup truck.

LiuGong North America’s compact 9035EZTS excavator is the company’s first zero tail-swing model in the 3.5 tonne class.

The machine is designed for utility work, residential construction and all other applications benefitting from a mini-excavator’s compact size.

With an operating weight of 3,860 kg, the 9035EZTS is towable to and from worksites behind a standard pickup truck. Its 0.14-cubic-yard bucket 1.7 metre arm reaches digging depths of 3.4 metres. Maximum ground level reach is 5.7 metres.

Model features include a mechanical quick-coupler connecting system that allows operators to swap between bucket and attachments.

Zero tail swing means the excavator stays completely within its own 2.1 metre by 1.7 metre footprint, allowing operators to work right up against buildings, trees and other barriers.

The 9035EZTS achieved its zero tail-swing design without compromising cab room or serviceability from its engine and hydraulics placement. It features a full-sized, ROPS-certified cab available in both open and fully enclosed, climate-controlled options.

All 9035EZTS machines feature systems and components that are familiar to the North American market, ensuring high part availability and coast-to-coast serviceability.

The 24.4 hp, Yanmar Tier 4 Final engine provides a combination of power with low fuel consumption, offering high productivity with low operating cost, according to the company. Kawasaki hydraulics ensure reliable performance and minimize the risk of unscheduled downtime.

A straight blade with blade float is standard on all 9035EZTS excavators. The blade provides operators a built-in tool for ground finishing and smoothing over backfilled trenches. It also lowers the rig’s centre-of-gravity for secure travel on uneven terrain, and operators can set the blade for additional stability during excavation.

As well, the LiuGong excavator features rubber tracks and a compact size with low, widely distributed ground pressure helps to reduce the risk of marring a newly paved surface or sensitive ground. Steel tracks are also available as an option on the machine.
